User Manual  


The IRT-6200-DAX is a high performance embedded audio extractor for either 2.97 Gb/s 3G‑SDI, 1.485 Gb/s HD-SDI or 270 Mb/s SD-SDI video signals. It is primarily designed to operate with IRT's IRT-6200-DAI digital audio inserter but will work on any embedded SDI source.

A typical SDI signal may contain up to eight audio pairs arranged in four groups. Each IRT-6200-DAX is capable of extracting two audio groups (X&Y) from those available. Selection is made via on board DIP switches.

The IRT-6200-DAX standard rear assembly is fitted with four balanced AES outputs. An analogue version rear assembly is available for outputting balanced analogue audio outputs.

A selectable tone generator with multiple frequency test tones and levels is provided allowing for audio system setup alignment. These appear on the audio outputs, when selected.

The IRT-6200-DAX is cascadable with two SDI outputs being provided.

The IRT-6200-DAX is designed to fit the openGear® standard 2RU frames which allow a mixture of cards from various manufacturers to be mounted within the same frame.

The DashBoard™ control software is available as a free download.
